Descriptive and risk analysis of vehicle movements linked to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome and porcine epidemic diarrhea transmission in US commercial swine farms
Abstract
This preprint presents a descriptive and risk analysis of vehicle movement patterns and their association with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRSV) and porcine epidemic diarrhea (PEDV) transmission in US commercial swine farms. Using GPS vehicle movement data combined with outbreak records, the study quantifies how specific vehicle types, routes, and timing contribute to between-farm disease transmission risk.
