Culturable microbial population from the upper respiratory tract of 1,010 clinically healthy horses in Southern Brazil
Abstract
This study characterized the culturable microbial population from the upper respiratory tract of 1,010 clinically healthy horses in Southern Brazil. The analysis identified the frequency and diversity of bacterial and fungal isolates, establishing baseline microbiome data for this population and providing a reference for detecting abnormal colonization patterns that may signal respiratory disease outbreaks in equine facilities.
