Kelsey Mills is a graduate of the Master of Geographic Information Science and Technology program at North Carolina State University. She graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, concentrating in archaeology and biological anthropology. Kelsey’s research interests are in the application of geospatial technologies to food animal science and cultural resource management. Her MGIST capstone experience involved modeling the spread of endemic porcine diseases within commercial swine farms. She has also conducted research into areas such as the spread of invasive species used in agriculture management through flooding and the hydrologic modeling of storm water runoff as it relates to the spread of animal disease. Kelsey is supported by an APHIS grant.
