Yusuf completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at North Carolina State University under the guidance of Dr. David Roberts. His doctoral research focused on optimization methods, specifically the application of curriculum learning and reinforcement learning algorithms to various real-world domains. He explored performance optimization in game-like environments to facilitate the learning process of AI agents. Additionally, he applied machine learning algorithms to estimate the sampling and testing requirements for detecting and controlling viral infections, such as African Swine Fever. He is now a postdoctoral researcher at North Carolina State University, continuing his research on modeling and estimating the spread of infectious diseases.
