Chunlin Yi completed his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Kansas State University, US, in 2024. His doctoral research focused on modeling and forecasting the spread of infectious diseases in large populations. He worked on several aspects of disease modeling and forecasting, including multilayer network analysis for multiple transmission routes of foot-and-mouth disease among beef-cattle farms and mathematical models integrated with assimilation techniques for COVID-19, dengue fever, and West Nile virus. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the Machado Lab in 2024, where his research focuses on modeling the spread of food animal diseases and optimizing control strategies to minimize socioeconomic losses.c
